Help with the Lake Jesup Shoreline Restoration from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 5, at the Lake Jesup Park Boat Ramp, 5951 S. Sanford Ave., Sanford. Join the Seminole County Lake Management and SERV Programs for the first-ever Lake Jesup Restoration! Volunteers will work alongside biologists to plant native eelgrass along the sandy marl bed flats shoreline of Lake Jesup. Please wear gloves, hat, sunscreen, old clothes and closed-toed shoes. Safari Soirée is 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5. Have a wild night with the Zoo and a few of our animals! Enjoy a silent auction, dinner, and dancing all to benefit the Central Florida Zoo. “Visions of Sugarplums” opens with a reception from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, at Jeanine Taylor Folk Art, 211 E. 1st Street, Historic downtown Sanford. The show runs through Dec. 31. Jeanine Taylor brings back her enchanting seasonal show, transforming the gallery in historic downtown Sanford into a shopping wonderland of one-of-a-kind art and gifts. Starting Nov. 5 and continuing through Dec. 24, holiday refreshments will be served every Saturday morning.
