Pocono businesses feel pain at the gas pump

Frassinelli said she felt the gas pinch last week for Valentine's Day — Black Friday for florists — when she put a "couple hundred miles" on her delivery vehicles from her location at 29 Washington St. to spots like Mount Pocono and Mount Bethel.
"We'll go anywhere, within reason," she said. "It's a traditional service for a florist. But what we charge for delivery, it doesn't cover gas and time. Not nearly."
Supply fears
Gasoline prices continued to climb across the U.S. on Tuesday, surpassing $4 per gallon in some areas, as industry analysts predicted that prices will rise further this summer.
According to the Automobile Association of America's Daily Fuel Gauge Report, the average price of regular gasoline in the U.S. rose Tuesday to $3.57 per gallon, marking a 12.6-percent rise from the year-ago average price of $3.17.
The price of oil has risen with the price of oil futures, which traded at a nine-month high Tuesday, pushing toward $105 a barrel on fears of more supply disruptions out of Iran.
