Upcoming events at Lehigh Valley schools
Dieruff High School will hold a FAFSA workshop to complete financial aid applications 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesday in Room B6. Financial aid officers will be available to help students and parents and guardians finish the documents for entrance into college.
Raub Middle School , 102 S. St. Cloud St., will celebrate Black History Month 6-8 p.m. Thursday with UMOJA, the Swahili word for unity. The event includes speakers, entertainment and presentations of literary work. Speakers will include Henry Moore , co-director of the regional center for Pennsylvania Center for Public Safety, who will discuss current black political and business professionals; and Lucy Piggott Prawl, parent advocate at ARC of Pennsylvania, who will speak about abolitionists. South Mountain Middle School will hold Family Fun Night 6-8 p.m. Thursday. There will games, prizes, food and activities. Representative from community-resource agencies will attend. There will be a free book exchange, free pizza and hot dogs and live performances by many school groups. Bingo, BrainQuest and other games will be played.
