PILOT MOUNTAIN — Joy Dian Phillips, age 59, of Pilot Mountain, passed away on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County.

She was born on November 23, 1952 in Forsyth County, to the late Henry Franklin and Nellie Mae Opal Jester Phillips.

Dian worked as florist at George K. Walker and was a member of Woodland Baptist Church.

Dian is survived by one son, Darrell “Hank” Thompson and finance Kasey Marie Lawson of the home; one grandson, Lance Cowen Thompson; two aunts, Jean Wallace and Judy Nodine; one adopted sister, Gail McHone; and many special cousins.

Dian was preceded in death by her parents; maternal grandparents, Minnie and Ellis Fred Jester; and paternal grandparents, Lawrence and Loma Phillips.

Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, February 12, 2012 at Cox-Needham Chapel at 2:00 P.M. with and the Rev. Jimmy Slate officiating. Interment will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens.
