Traders are hoping for busy Valentine's week
TRADERS are hoping to feel the love from customers in the coming days as they brace themselves for a final rush for Valentine’s gifts.
This weekend is expected to see a surge in people buying flowers, chocolates, balloons and other gifts for Tuesday.
Lisa Ellson, manager of Glennis and Lisa Florists, Oxford Street, Wellingborough, said Valentine’s is traditionally the busiest trading period of the year.
She said: “Sending flowers is the most romantic thing to do.
“We’ve had a lot of interest in our Valentine’s stock for the past few weeks, and we’re expecting a big increase in customers over the weekend.
“There’s a difficult economic climate out there, but we’ve tried to give our customers as much choice as possible to match their budget.
“We’ve got roses of all colours, chocolates, teddy bears and gifts, so there’s something for everyone.”
Party store Time 2 Celebrate, in Horsemarket, Kettering, has a special Valentine’s section selling cards, balloons and gifts.

Unless there is some context we are unaware of, looting and burning a neighborhood bakery or looting a family-owned florist makes no sense, beyond being so carried away with adrenalin that everything starts to look like a target.
